My yoga practice and classes are ever deepening and I learn every time I teach. I teach Happy Hips, Gentle Yoga, Yin and Restorative. These classes are a beautiful starting place for those new to yoga. I like to create a friendly, peaceful atmosphere to practice in, where we don’t take ourselves too seriously. I encourage everyone to practice with unconditional kindness towards themselves.
As people arrive at my classes I’m in awe of their commitment to arriving, to breathing, to allowing. I get as much from them as they may get from me. It’s a beautiful circle of energy.
During my last four years of dedicated practice, which included Yin teacher training at Sempre Viva in Vancouver with Bernie Clark, I began teaching Yin Restorative in July 2014. Since then I’ve recently retired from a desk job for 25 years and have completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training to expand and grow my practice and my life.
I have recently discovered the magic of Hannah Somatics which pairs beautifully with gentle yoga. Subtle movements reprogram the brain’s muscle memory to create ease and fluidity in the body. I attended a 3-day workshop in July 2015 with James Knight of gentlesomaticyoga.com.
I welcome everyone to explore the world of yoga at whatever level is available to you today, in this moment. There’s something for everyone.
I celebrate my teachers, Deborah Carruthers, Bernie Clark, Jessica Marais, Joanne Pellegrin, James Knight, and the group of students who I took my recent training with.
I’ve been to my “edge”, I’ve breathed in, I’ve breathed out. I’ve held the pose, and come into stillness. In all of this, I’ve come home to myself and I love her.
