with Stephanie Rose, Certified Chair Yoga Teacher
When: Tuesdays, 2:00 – 3:15 pm
Where: Harmony Yoga & Wellness Center, 360 Duncan St, Duncan BC
Chair Yoga uses breath, mindfulness, and therapeutic movement in a way that is accessible and fulfilling to all bodies and all ranges of movement. Chair Yoga can be done seated in the chair or standing using the chair as support when needed. In Chair Yoga, we emphasize gentle movement, brain vitality, mobility, balance, and our connection to body and breath. We work to maintain and support a healthy range of motion and hold space for students to feel more empowered in their bodies and their health. This class is open to absolutely everyone. Some days you might want to challenge yourself, and some days sitting and breathing with us will be enough.
Stephanie Rose teaches this class with a lot of kindness, compassion and joy. She believes everyone can benefit from Chair Yoga and ensures that all students feel supported, safe and empowered to listen to their body. She has used Chair Yoga to regain mobility and relieve chronic pain after an injury. She knows how beneficial Chair Yoga is, and through her injury has experienced what it’s like to live with chronic pain, limited mobility, and fatigue. She is so grateful to have the privilege of sharing these teachings and always looks forward to welcoming both new and regular students!
Stephanie received her 50-hour Chair Yoga certification with Annette Wertman. She studied Hatha and Yin yoga with her teacher Joy Morrell and vinyasa with Troy Hadeed. She studied meditation and yoga philosophy with her teacher, Sally Kempton, and received her prenatal/postnatal yoga certificate with Lori Lucas.
Our Chair community at Harmony is warm and inviting! It has been growing for many years under the loving guidance of Jane Waterman. It was through her dedication and knowledge that this community was able to thrive! Our classes always come with a good dose of laughter and time to catch up and connect with each other.
